Instech's ABS110 automates the collection of blood samples from a range of laboratory animal species including mice, rats and large animals. By eliminating labor-intensive periodic manual withdrawals it can streamline drug metabolism and pharmacokinetics studies. It also reduces the stress on animals that frequent handling can cause.

The automated sampler withdraws blood from a freely-moving animal according to your programmed schedule, stores the samples in an integrated refrigerated fraction collector, and replaces the withdrawn volumes with IV fluid. You can control and monitor sampling schedules, volumes and withdrawal rates for up to twelve animals from a single PC or laptop.

The units are compact -- only a few inches high -- and can be set up on top of your existing shoebox or metabolic cages.
