Introduction
Various types of MEA (Microelectrode arrays) are available for all kinds of extracellular multichannel recording. Typical MEAs for in vitro applications have 60 microelectrodes arranged in an 8 x 8 layout grid embedded in a transparent glass substrate. Cultivate the tissue or culture directly on the MEA. Culture chambers are available with and without lid. Please ask for custom layouts, that is, MEA layouts according to your specifications. Standard versions are available with an internal reference electrode.
- Standard MEAs with flat round TiN electrodes in an 8 x 8 layout grid for all applications
- 3-D MEAs - the ideal solution for acute slices, because the 3-D shaped
Pt electrodes penetrate dead cell layers
- HexaMEAs featuring a hexagonal layout, perfect for recording from retina
- ThinMEAs with a "thickness" of only
180 μm, ideally suited for high-resolution imaging
- New cheap ecoMEAs for applications with lower spatial resolution (e. g. cell cultures, large slices)
- FlexMEAs made of flexible polyimid material, perfect for in vivo and special in vitro applications
- perforated MEAs: newly designed for easy sclice positioning, optimized signal to noise ratio. Lower stimulation amplitudes needed.
