As successor of the PULSE program family, PATCHMASTER now offers additional features meeting the highest standards of modern electrophysiology. This new software, running on PC-based and Macintosh computers, harbors all comfortable functions of PULSE, but offers a variety of novel procedures aimed to make electrophysiological research even more versatile and efficient. Please have a look at a short Overview on Improvements of PATCHMASTER compared to PULSE.
With PATCHMASTER experimental design, performance, and analysis become much more flexible giving rise to a high degree of automation and providing access to experimental protocols that were thus far unattainable with commercial software
PATCHMASTER offers an extremely versatile multi-channel stimulation (up to 4 channels) and acquisition (up to 8 channels). The new program architecture allows for parallel task processing, thereby increasing speed and reliability of data acquisition and analysis. The I/O Control dialog gives you direct access to the hardware. With the powerful programmable protocol editor even complex experimental procedures can be handled in a convenient way. Of course, the protocol editor can also be used to perform several data analysis routines by a single mouse click
PATCHMASTER removes the expense of purchasing additional hardware: the sampled data is displayed on the highly customizable digital oscilloscope. With the integrated pulse generator it is very simple to create or to edit complex pulse patterns. A pool of such pulse templates can be stored and the templates are available for execution by just pressing one button. |
Other devices like perfusion systems or manipulators can also be controlled by the software.
Export functions transfer the data to other programs such as IGOR, or save the date as ASCII files.
The PATCHMASTER tutorial will guide you through the main features of the PATCHMASTER program. It briefly describes how a very simple first experiment with PATCHMASTER could look like.
PATCHMASTER PRO is designed to support, in addition to PATCHMASTER, a set of Good Lab Practice (GLP) standards for data acquisition and handling, as established by the Food and Drug Administration (FDA) (21 CFR Part 11). |
