Crist Instrument Co., Inc. now provides a variety of different sizes and models of Stereotaxic Frames. Because we are expanding this product, we are changing the part numbers and moving these products from Section 6 to Section 9 in our catalog. This should aid you in locating these products and their optional parts.

The Primate Stereotaxic Models are listed in the table below. In addition, there is a model that is especially useful when working with cats (9-YSTC-1). We will also be adding a model for rats, mice, and other small animals in the near future.

Our Primate Stereotaxic Frames are suitable for use in the MRI and for light surgery. The device is compatible with a variety of Kopf Manipulators and Positioners. It is designed principally for holding the animal's head in the MRI. When it is used in surgery, there will be no discrepancies in the positioning. All models of Stereotaxic Frames are determined by the bore size of your MRI. Each model is available in two material types; aluminum/plastic and all plastic. The magnetic power of your MRI will determine which material you will require in your frame. The Metal and Plastic frame is usable in surgery with care and delicacy.

A number of options are available with each model. These include Offset and Straight Ear and Eye Bars, a variety of Ear Tips, different Eye Bar Position Plates and an Anterior Dye Marker There are two sizes of anterior/posterior sidebars for these models. When ordering, please specify which size you require 19 cm. and 22 cm. Note that the A/P Bars for Baboons are available in only one size 22 cm. The Ear Bar Tips are available in the sizes and shapes listed as A through M (See Drawing). Please specify which tip you need for your project. All Tips have dye markers in the center. The smaller model Stereotaxic Frames (e.g. 9-YSTI-22 and 9-YST-18) are especially recommended for new world monkeys and infant macaques.
